Frequently asked questions

  • I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Go to the Sign in page, click on "Forgot Password" link, and follow instructions from there.

  • Do I have to finish the course in one shot?

Nope! You can start and stop as you need to. Your progress is saved. Courses are not timed. Just be sure to finish and pass before the course expiration or your license expiration date.

  • Where do I find my course that I'm working on?

Sign in to your account and at the top, click on My Dashboard. All the courses you're working on are here.

  • How do I get credit for the course?

Once you pass the exam, we send in your hours to the state for you, and they credit those to your license. Please note: We report your hours immediately to the state, but we have no control over how fast they credit your license. They're usually fairly quick, but to be safe, be sure to give yourself enough breathing room.

  • What is a passing score, and what if I don't pass?

Washington state requires at least a 75% exam score. Your chances of passing are high. If you don’t, retakes are free until the course expiration date. Courses have multiple sections. We've designed it so you only need to retake the section(s) you don't pass.

  • Can I take more than one course at a time?

Absolutely. You can only work on one at a time, but you can have multiple courses that you switch between.

  • How many CEUs do I need?

24 hours every 3 years between license renewal. Hours must be in the following categories: 8 hours of NEC Code Update, 4 hours of RCW-WAC Update and 12 hours of Industry Related. This applies to electricians, master electricians and electrical administrators.

  • When do I need the 24 hours by?

By your license expiration date, which can be found on your electrical license. Call Labor & Industries for additional license questions: (360)902-5269

  • Are these courses approved for trainee licenses?

No, sorry. They're approved for electrical administrators, journey, and master electrician licenses only. You're welcome to take any course, but you won't receive credit.
